The transport organization of the district has received financial strength from the free travel power scheme for women through the guarantee scheme of the state government. Women’s Free Travel Shakti Yojana is instrumental in recovering from the loss of transport department in seven units of Raichur Division of Kalyan Karnataka Road Transport Corporation. A total of seven units including two in Raichur are functioning in the transport department of the district. Even before the implementation of the Shakti Yojana, the transport department of the district, which was making a small loss, was getting a daily payment of Rs 40 lakh from the seven units of the district. On June 11 from the transport corporation in the district, the minister in charge of the district Dr. After Sharanprakash Patil launched the Women’s Free Travel Shakti Yojana, the transport organization has seen an increase in the number of passengers every day. Students, girls and women are traveling free under Shakti Yojana. About 53 lakh women have traveled in the last couple of months and 85 thousand to 1 lakh daily. The divisional officials have submitted a report to the government that the daily income of 36 lakh 78 thousand is coming from women’s travel and a profit of 19 crore 12 lakh 50 thousand has been made.
