Afghan counter-narcotic police have successfully destroyed 21 drug processing labs and arrested 20 individuals involved in the illegal drug trade across eight provinces. The operations, conducted by police units on the outskirts of Firoz Koah city, the capital of Ghor province, resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of illicit drugs and equipment used for manufacturing heroin.
The arrested suspects are charged with trafficking, selling, and purchasing illegal narcotics in various provinces including Herat, Nangarhar, Ghazni, Samangan, Parwan, Sari Pul, and Farah. The Ministry of Interior’s statement highlighted the operation as part of the Afghan government’s continued efforts to combat the growing issue of illicit drug production and trafficking in the country.
