Kamalakumar Jain, the new president of the Chamber of Commerce, said that it has been decided to start a web directory on behalf of the district unit of the Chamber of Commerce to make information about businesses available at one place. Since the information of dozens of small, medium and large industrialists including doctors, grocery stores is also available in the directory, it will facilitate mutual exchange and also help in business growth. He said in a media conference on Friday that it will save time and be profitable. The acquisition of 690.13 acres of land in the district had reached its final stage. The Minister was assured that notification is pending and acquisition of 1500 acres of land is pending. Raichur is an ideal location for setting up a Mega Textiles Park. The details have been provided to the Industries Minister he said. A request has been submitted to the Minister that many demands should be fulfilled, including that land and subsidies should be provided to women entrepreneurs. We have requested that the government should create a favorable environment for the promotion of entrepreneurship. He said that we will organize a state level program soon and invite the Chief Minister and bring our demands to his attention. He informed that discussions have already been held with Industries Minister M. B. Patila about the work and projects to be done for the growth of industry and entrepreneurship in Raichur district. There are two rivers, Bharat Mala and three national highways in the district. There is a conducive environment for the growth of agro-based industries. It has been brought to the notice of the minister that the subsidy policy should be given on capital investment and not on transaction. He said that warehouse standards should be relaxed.
