Indian shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar displayed remarkable skill and determination as he secured the gold medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions individual event at the Asian Shooting Championship in Changwon, Korea. Tomar’s outstanding performance earned him the top spot with a final score of 463.5. In a closely contested competition, China’s Tian Jiaming secured the silver medal with a score of 462.7, while another Chinese shooter, Du Linshu, claimed the bronze with a score of 450.3. Tomar had a strong qualification round, finishing in fifth place with a score of 591. Furthermore, Tomar, along with his Indian teammates Swapnil Kusale and Akhil Sheoran, clinched the team silver with a total score of 1764, second only to the Chinese team, who scored 1777. This remarkable achievement not only signifies Tomar’s prowess but also adds to India’s already impressive record in shooting. Notably, India has secured two possible Olympic quota places in this event through Kusale and Sheoran. Kusale earned the Paris Games quota during the World Championships in Cairo last year, while Sheoran achieved the same feat in this year’s World Championships in Baku. Tomar’s gold medal and the team’s silver medal contribute to India’s growing success in the world of shooting sports. Congratulations to Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and the Indian shooting team on their outstanding performances.
