Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has become the second-highest wicket-taker for India in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. In the semi-final against England, Bumrah’s exceptional performance saw him take two wickets, bringing his total to 13 in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh, another left-arm pacer, holds the record for the most wickets by an Indian in a single T20 World Cup, with 15 wickets despite not taking any in his two-over spell against England. Former cricketer RP Singh is third on the list, having taken 12 wickets in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

In the semi-final match, England won the toss and opted to bowl. India, led by Rohit Sharma’s 57 off 39 balls and Suryakumar Yadav’s 47 off 36 balls, posted a total of 171/7. Contributions from Hardik Pandya (23 off 13) and Ravindra Jadeja (17* off 9) bolstered the score. England’s Chris Jordan took three wickets for 37 runs in his three-over spell.

During England’s chase, they struggled to adapt to the pitch conditions, managing only 103 runs in 16.4 overs. Harry Brook (25 off 19) and Jos Buttler (23 off 15) were the top scorers. India’s Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav led the bowling attack, each taking three wickets, while Bumrah added two more, securing a 68-run victory for India. The stage is now set for the T20 World Cup final between the unbeaten teams India and South Africa, taking place in Barbados on Saturday.
