New Delhi
On Friday morning, it was revealed by the source that heavy rain had brought some relief from the heat wave, but it also caused widespread disruption in the city. Potters in the Paharganj area suffered significant losses as their clay goods were destroyed or washed away. According to a 70-year-old potter named Laxmi Devi, who has been selling clay goods for over three decades, she informed the source that she had incurred substantial financial losses when her goods shattered and were washed away during the night. She lamented that the extent of the losses was uncertain and that there was no way to recover from them. Expressing disbelief, she mentioned that this was the first time such a calamity had struck, despite her long tenure in the trade. Our products disintegrated and disappeared overnight. We are unable to compensate for this loss, she said to the source. Another potter named Moti Lal estimated that he had lost thousands of rupees due to the rain’s damage to his clay goods.
