Dasara celebrations have taken place across the state.  Dasara has already started in full swing, and on Navratri days, it is common to see people walking on the streets dressed in different kinds of costumes. Similarly, in Puttur city of the district, a man dressed as a ghost suddenly appears among the people walking on the road and makes many people suddenly startle.

Diwakar Devadika, an autorickshaw driver also called as savior, a resident of Chikmudnoor village, has been celebrating Navratri by dressing up in various costumes for the last 12 years. For the past 6 years, he has been entertaining people in the guise of a ghost.

Diwakara Devadiga, who is about 55 years old, will be walking around in the guise of a ghost on Navratri days with a day-long fast. Naga Arts has been dressing Diwakara as a ghost every morning, and he says that he started wearing this costume by imagining the body image of a person in the text when he was in third grade. Each time he was allowed to disguise himself for up to 4 days. But this time they have given an opportunity to disguise themselves for 9 days as well.

I dress up only during the day and go home at 6 pm. Didn’t bother anyone. Also, I don’t ask for money from anyone, I take it from the giver.   Many people call and pay themselves. Diwakara Devadiga said that he will fast for 9 days.
