81st Bhadra Project Irrigation Advisory Committee Meeting

A meeting to discuss release of water through the Bhadra Reservoir, Left and Right Bank, Anaweri, Davanagere, Malebennur  and Harihara branch reservoirs was held under the chairmanship of Bhadra Project Irrigation Advisory Committee president KB Pavithra Ramaiah.

On 15th July, if the water level at Bhadra reservoir is at 165 feet, water must be released on the same day to the canals.  If there is no rainfall and the water level does not reach 165 feet, again the advisory committee meeting will be held and decision will be taken about release of water, the farmer representatives who were present in the meeting opined.

If the agriculture department officers release the water on 10th July, it will enable farmers to take up sowing f paddy, the farmers representatives informed.

Chairman of the CADA KB Pavithra Ramaiah said that as per the decision and suggestions of the members present in the meeting, action will be taken for releasing sufficient water   from Right, Left bank canals, Anaveri, Davanagere, Malebennur and Harihar branch canals to enable farmers to take up agriculture activity.

Farmer leader HR Basavarajappa, Bhadra CADA Directors Vinayaka, Hanumanthappa, Rajappa, Shadakshari, Manjunath Hulikere, Bhadra Project water consumers cooperative union president Dyavappa Reddy, various farmer leaders, officers of Bhadra CADA and Irrigation, Agriculture department participated.
