Resolve Atrocity Cases Early, Additional Deputy Commissioner

 The departmental authorities should quickly review, take legal action and settle any other cases, including cases of atrocities against scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Vijaya E Ravikumar.

She was speaking at the 2nd quarterly district level awareness and oversight committee meeting arranged by the Social welfare department at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall at Beerasandra village of Devanahalli taluk.

She also advised the officials that regular awareness and oversight committee meetings should be held on a regular basis in the taluks and resolve various issues such as atrocities at the grassroot level.

She said that beneficiaries should be identified and distribute the benefits under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe subsidy schemes, and should follow the specified criteria for selection of beneficiaries under various schemes.

Responding to the District Awareness committee plea made in the last meeting, the members thanked the Superintendent of Police for removing a cadre of tribal organization from the rowdy sheeter list.

Superintendent of Police Dr Kona Vamshi Krishna, Public Prosecutor of second sessions court SB Haveri, Assistant Commissioner Tejaskumar, Deputy Director of Social welfare department Krishnappa, District Welfare officer of Scheduled Tribes N Thyagaraju, Chief planning officer of Zilla Panchayat Narasimhamurthy, District Manager of Dr BR Ambedkar Development Board, members of District awareness committee, district level officers of various departments, Tahsildars, DySPs, Assistant Directors of Social Welfare Department of Taluks participated in the meeting.
