Union Minister Kiren Rijiju criticized the Congress on Thursday, stating that the party’s promises for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections would not be believed by the public. Speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, Rijiju emphasized, No one will ever trust Congress’s announcements for the Maharashtra elections.
Rijiju also targeted Rahul Gandhi over his recent Samvidhan Sammelan in Nagpur, arguing that Congress has no credibility in discussing the Constitution after showing disrespect toward it in the past. Congress has no right to talk about Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar or the Constitution after their past actions, he said.
The Union Minister further criticized Congress’s stance on Jammu and Kashmir, pointing out that the party had once advocated for the reinstatement of Article 370, which had prevented reservations for the SC/ST community. He commended Prime Minister Modi for revoking Article 370, enabling such reservations.
Rijiju also noted the upcoming 150th anniversary of Bhawan Birsa Munda on November 15 and stated that the Congress and its allies should face consequences in the Maharashtra elections.
On Wednesday, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) unveiled five major promises for the Maharashtra elections, including financial support for women, farmers, and the youth, along with health insurance for families and free bus travel for women. The elections are scheduled for November 20, with results to be declared on November 23.
