The 8th Ahmedabad Marathon is set to take place on Sunday, with over 20,000 participants expected. This highly anticipated event will feature full marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.097 km), 10 km, and 5 km categories. Organized with support from Ahmedabad City Police and the Health Department, comprehensive safety and medical arrangements have been made.

During a press conference, officials highlighted key measures, including 21 medical booths along the route, a critical care station at the finish area, and a quick response team of 108 ambulances. Volunteers will also provide first aid and hydration at 21 stations. KD Hospital’s Medical Director, Dr. Amir Sanghavi, emphasized the importance of athlete safety and preparedness.

To ensure smooth traffic and crowd management, the Ahmedabad Police will actively monitor the course. Additional Commissioner Neeraj Badgujar assured that all emergency response measures are in place.

This year’s course continues from 2023’s revamped track, featuring iconic Ahmedabad landmarks like Atal Bridge, Gandhi Ashram, and Ellis Bridge. Race Director Dave Cundy noted, “This picturesque route offers a great chance for runners to achieve personal bests.”

A notable sustainability initiative will see all water bottles used during the race recycled into park benches. The event also honors the Indian Armed Forces with the #Run4OurSoldiers campaign, drawing over 3,000 armed officers and police personnel as participants.

Organizers unveiled a new jersey for runners and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their support.
