India will aim to resolve their batting struggles as they face New Zealand in the third and final ODI today, with the series tied 1-1. Despite winning the first match by 59 runs, India’s inconsistent batting has been a concern throughout the series.
In the second ODI, India was bowled out for 183 while chasing 260, highlighting the need for a stronger batting display. Radha Yadav’s 48, along with her ninth-wicket partnership with Saima Thakor, added respectability to the total, but Indian batters have yet to register a half-century in the series.
Openers Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur will need to step up to give the team a solid start. Mandhana, in particular, has struggled for form and will look to bounce back.
The bowlers, led by Radha Yadav, have been performing well. Radha’s four-wicket haul kept New Zealand in check after they threatened to post a bigger total in the second match.
New Zealand, bolstered by veteran pacer Lea Tahuhu, will also pose a tough challenge, making it crucial for India to resolve their batting vulnerabilities in the series decider.
