Speaking to media persons at Vidhana Soudha, State Law Minister HK Patil announced that the government would withdraw the notice issued to farmers by the Waqf Board in Vijayapura.
Patil emphasized that the government has no intention of confiscating farmers’ land and criticized the BJP for politicizing the issue unnecessarily. It is inappropriate to make politics out of this matter. If a notice has been sent to farmers, we will ensure its withdrawal, he stated.
The Minister clarified that the Tahsildar had made an error in issuing the notice, and the government would rectify the situation. He dismissed political accusations from the BJP, insisting that the Tahsildar’s actions should not lead to calls for resignation from Minister Zameer Ahmed. Why should Zameer resign, the tahsildar made a mistake, and it is the responsibility of the Deputy Commissioner to review such notices. Above that, there is the government, Patil asserted.
He expressed confidence that all confusions regarding this issue had been resolved and assured that there were no further complications.
