The CET-Sakshama program, aimed at enhancing the educational prospects of students from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds in Belgaum district, has received Rs 10 lakh under the state’s Challenge Fund scheme. The program, which prepares students for CET and NEET exams, is implemented in collaboration with the Zilla Panchayat and the Department of Pre-Graduate Education.
Initiated by Zilla Panchayat CEO Rahul Shinde, CET-Sakshama provides monthly preparatory tests for first and second PUC students at government science colleges. The initiative aims to level the playing field for students in rural areas, enabling them to better face competitive exams.
Shinde expressed his satisfaction with the grant, which supports his “dream project.” He also announced plans to develop specialized software for the program, which will help analyze and track student performance more effectively. The grant is expected to help further streamline the implementation of CET-Sakshama, with continuous monitoring and improvement efforts being carried out by the department’s staff and lecturers.
