The second season of the Indian Women’s League (IWL) will kick off on January 10, 2025. The league, now in a home-and-away format, will feature eight teams, including last season’s IWL 2 champions, Sreebhumi FC (West Bengal), and runners-up NITA Football Academy (Odisha), who will make their debut this year.
The season will open with a double-header. Defending champions Odisha FC will face East Bengal FC at Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium, while Gokulam Kerala FC will take on newcomers Sreebhumi FC at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri.
The teams will compete across multiple cities, including Kolkata, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Chennai, and Bhubaneswar, in a three-month-long season packed with exciting football action.
The IWL was initially scheduled to begin in October 2024, but it was postponed to January 2025, with a more compact three-month schedule. Fans can expect thrilling matches as teams vie for the coveted IWL title.
