After the success of ‘Call Me Bae’, Ananya Panday is set to captivate audiences again in the upcoming thriller ‘CTRL’, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The trailer, released on Tuesday, teases a gripping story about the dangers of our growing dependence on technology.
Ananya plays Nella Awasthi, while Vihaan Samat stars as Joe Mascarenhas. The two portray a couple adored by their online followers. However, their seemingly perfect digital life spirals out of control after their breakup, with Nella handing her life over to a social media app named ‘CTRL.’
Talking about her role, Ananya shared, ‘Nella is like many of us, stuck in a world controlled by technology and social media. ‘CTRL’ explores the balance between our online personas and who we truly are.’
Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Netflix’s Director of Original Films, highlighted the film’s relevance, stating, ‘We believe technology keeps everything under control, but does it really? ‘CTRL’ raises these important questions, and Ananya’s powerful performance makes this thriller hard to put down.’
Vikramaditya Motwane also explained that ‘CTRL’ uses a ‘screen life format,’ telling the story through the tech we use daily. He emphasized the immersive experience the film offers, thanks to the platform’s global reach.
‘CTRL’ promises to be a unique and thought-provoking journey that explores the complex relationship between technology and identity.
