Samantha looks ethereal in new poster from Shaakunthalam

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu turned a year older on April 28 and the team of Shaakuntalam released a new poster to celebrate the occasion.
Samantha looks ethereal in a white saree draped traditionally with flowers in her hair. Director Gunashekar took to social media to wish her on her birthday, writing, “Wishing the ethereal “Shakuntala” from #Shaakuntalam @Samanthaprabhu2 a very Happy Birthday! #HBDSamantha. (sic)” Shooting for the socio fantasy film has already been wrapped up. Samantha once revealed she has never worked as hard as she has, especially physically, for this film. The makers of Samantha’s other films also released posters to wish her on her birthday.
Allu Arjun’s daughter AlluArha will make her debut in the film as Prince Bharat. Shaakunthalam will also see Dev Mohan in the lead role. Based in the Himalayas, the film’s story is based on the AdiParva of Mahabharata. The film is an on screen adaptation of the play AbhignanaShaakunthalam by Kalidas. It is believed to be one of the greatest love stories ever told. Huge sets were erected specially for the film. Jointly produced by NeelimaGuna and Dil Raju, Shaakunthalam is expected to hit screens later this year. Further details are awaited.
