Chennaiyin FC head coach Owen Coyle is focused on starting the Indian Super League 2024-25 season with a win. His team is set to play against Odisha FC at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar today. Despite the away fixture, Coyle is determined to secure all three points and has emphasized the team’s ability to achieve a victory.

Coyle stated that the best team will be chosen to face Odisha FC and expressed confidence in winning if the team performs well. He noted that a draw is not the aim, and the objective is to win the game.

Chennaiyin FC has added 13 new players to their squad, including both Indian and international signings such as Mandar Rao Desai, Kiyan Nassiri, Wilmar Jordan, and Elsinho. This new mix is expected to provide versatility and competition across all positions. Coyle highlighted that having two players for every position, a lack from the previous season, will enhance performance through healthy competition.

Forward Connor Shields also noted the increased competition within the squad, which motivates players to train harder. The match between Chennaiyin FC and Odisha FC will start at 5:00 PM IST today.
