Must read

A significant confrontation occurred when police attempted to arrest MLA ST Somashekhar amid a silent protest by Congress workers at Hoysala Circle in the Kengeri suburb of the Yeshwantpur Assembly Constituency.

The protest was organized in response to allegations against BJP MLA Munirath, who is accused of threatening a contractor and making caste-related remarks. Tensions escalated when police initiated arrests, prompting a heated exchange between Somashekhar and law enforcement. Somashekhar argued that he had received permission for the protest and expressed frustration over the police’s actions.

Local leaders criticized Munirath’s behavior, labeling it as a repeated pattern of intimidation within the constituency. Hanumantarayappa, the Bangalore West Division District President, remarked on Munirath’s history of filing false cases against residents and threatening officials.

The protest drew thousands of participants, including women from diverse backgrounds, who marched silently from Hoysala Circle to Ganesh Playground. Notable attendees included Vidhan Parishad Member Ramoji Gowda, former MLA Soumya Reddy, and various local leaders and activists.

The event highlighted the growing discontent among constituents regarding the actions of elected officials and law enforcement.
