A Swachhata Hee Seva program took place on Wednesday at the District Administration Building, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness as a collective responsibility. Collector P.N. Ravindra highlighted that a clean environment leads to a clear and beautiful mindset.
The initiative, part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Pakshika-2024,’ is aimed at promoting hygiene awareness in both rural and urban areas. Running from September 14 to October 2, the program includes activities such as tree planting and cleaning drives. Ravindra emphasized that keeping plastic waste in check and preventing stagnant water around homes can significantly reduce the spread of diseases. He urged participants to plant saplings in schools and workplaces for the benefit of future generations.
The program’s slogan focuses on the dual themes of ‘nature cleanliness’ and ‘cultural cleanliness.’ Activities included planting trees, organizing local cultural festivals, cleaning public spaces, and conducting health checkups for civic and sanitation workers.
District officials, including Zilla Panchayat CEO Prakash GT Nittali and Deputy Collector Dr. N. Bhaskar, participated in the drive. A banner with slogans promoting cleanliness was displayed to raise awareness among the local community. The Collector actively engaged in cleaning efforts and encouraged attendees to adopt cleanliness as a personal commitment.
