Anime film ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ in theatres on Oct 18

The anime classic ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ is making its theatrical debut in India after 31 years. Set for release on October 18, the film will be available in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu. Originally showcased at the International Film Festival of India in 1993, it later appeared on television. 

Legendary screenwriter V. Vijayendra Prasad, known for blockbusters like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR,’ has contributed to this adaptation, adding a fresh perspective to the timeless epic. Arjun Aggarwal, co-founder of Geek Pictures India, said, ‘This anime version of the Ramayana highlights the strength of Indo-Japan collaborations. This dynamic portrayal of Ram’s legend will resonate with audiences of all ages.’ 

Geek Pictures India recently unveiled the film’s teaser and poster, which have already intrigued fans. Directed by Koichi Sasaki and Ram Mohan, with music by Vanraj Bhatia, the movie is a joint Indo-Japanese production. The story follows Prince Rama, an incarnation of Vishnu, on his quest to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana. 

Timed to coincide with the festive season of Dussehra and Diwali, ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ combines India’s cultural richness with the artistry of Japanese anime. Distributed by Geek Pictures India, AA Films, and Excel Entertainment, the film promises to captivate audiences nationwide.
