Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed gratitude to the voters of Chamarajanagar, acknowledging their support over the past 40 years. He spoke at a thanksgiving meeting organized to celebrate his landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister urged the state’s MPs to continue advocating for Karnataka’s interests at the national level. He highlighted the Congress party’s ongoing efforts since the Nehru era towards the inclusive development, progress, and harmony of all sections of society.
Siddaramaiah emphasized his commitment to empowering Dalits, women, and backward classes across all castes, aligning with the principles of Ambedkar’s constitution, which he stated as a priority for the Congress party.
Reflecting on the sacrifices made by Congress members for the country’s freedom, Siddaramaiah underscored the party’s historical contributions to the welfare of various communities. He reaffirmed his government’s dedication to fulfilling the five guarantees promised to the people, despite what he referred to as baseless allegations from the BJP regarding funding shortages.
Asserting that there are ample funds allocated for all announced development projects in the budget, Siddaramaiah assured the continuation of their guarantee schemes for as long as his government remains in power. He credited the fulfillment of promises as pivotal to securing the Congress’s victory in the Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency by a significant margin of 1,80,000 votes.
