After receiving approval from Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Gurmit Singh, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the implementation of the Uttarakhand Public and Private Property Damage Recovery Bill 2024. He emphasized that Uttarakhand is a peaceful state where there is no tolerance for riots, vandalism, or disturbances.

CM Dhami stated, The Governor has approved the anti-riot law, which was passed in the last assembly session. With this law in place, anyone causing riots or damaging public or private property will be required to compensate fully for their actions. The goal is to maintain peace in our state.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Governor for endorsing this significant legislation, which allows for the recovery of damages caused by rioters. It also ensures reimbursement for government personnel involved in riot control efforts.

Dhami made it clear that disrupting law and order in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand will not be tolerated. He noted that the law will be strictly enforced, aiming to deter unrest and hold rioters accountable for any damage.

Earlier this year, Dhami’s government introduced strict measures, including the formation of a special tribunal to address riot-related cases, underscoring the administration’s commitment to safeguarding the state’s peace and integrity.
