On Friday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at four locations in Punjab linked to Gurupatwant Singh Pannun, a leader of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and a pro-Khalistani terrorist. The NIA teams targeted one site in Moga, two in Bathinda, and one in Mohali, all connected to individuals involved in the ongoing investigation under case number RC-30/2023/NIA/DLI.
During these searches, the NIA seized various incriminating materials, including digital devices, which are currently being analyzed. This case focuses on Pannun’s alleged conspiracy with other SFJ members to promote terrorism and violence.
The NIA initially registered the case against Pannun on November 17, 2023, citing multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. The investigation is still ongoing. Pannun is recognized as a terrorist by India and holds citizenship in both the United States and Canada.
