Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Monday amidst growing anticipation of an upcoming Cabinet expansion. The meeting, held at Raj Bhavan, holds significant importance as the state braces for the imminent addition of new Cabinet members, expected in the coming days.

Recently, CM Revanth Reddy had traveled to Delhi to discuss the Cabinet expansion with top Congress leaders. Reports suggest that the names of five to six ministers have already been finalized, leaving many hopeful aspirants eagerly awaiting the long-awaited expansion. Revanth Reddy and his initial 11 Cabinet colleagues took office on December 7, 2023, with the state allowed a maximum of 18 ministers, including the Chief Minister.

During the meeting with the Governor, CM Revanth Reddy also briefed him on the upcoming legislative agenda for the Budget session, including proposed Bills slated for tabling in the Assembly. The discussion also touched upon the issue of nominated Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs).

Earlier in March, the Telangana HC invalidated the nominations of M Kodandaram and Amer Ali Khan as MLCs under the Governor’s quota, along with rejecting the nominations of Sravan Dasoju and K. Satyanarayana. These decisions were challenged in court by BRS leaders, leading to the recent legal developments.

Following the court’s rulings, the BRS leaders have appealed to the Governor to reconsider their nominations, highlighting ongoing developments in the state’s political landscape.
