Persistent heavy rainfall has been affecting the coastal regions of the state recently, leading to various challenges for local residents and students, particularly with regards to traffic disruptions.
In Hulkadki Gudikeri, located in Yaljit village under Golihole Gram Panchayat near Byndur district, a critical situation arose due to the absence of a bridge. This compelled parents to personally escort their school-going children across streams. The area, surrounded by hills, lacks essential infrastructure, exacerbating the difficulties faced by residents of Byndur taluk during the monsoon season. Children are forced to navigate treacherous footpaths and streams to reach school, causing considerable hardship.
MLA Gururaj Gantihole responded to the plight of specially-abled students in Gudikeri, where two children encounter obstacles due to the swollen stream along their route to school during rainy days. Recognizing the severity of the situation, the MLA visited the area, met with the affected families, and promptly arranged a temporary solution.
Acknowledging the challenges posed by inadequate footpath infrastructure in parts of the constituency, the MLA directed immediate action to address these issues. Plans are underway to construct a footbridge, ensuring safer access for children to schools and improving their overall well-being.
MLA reassured the community that measures are being taken to alleviate the current hardships and affirmed his commitment to ensuring uninterrupted education for the children despite the adverse conditions caused by the inclement weather.
