Protest Against Construction Of Explosive Warehouse Near Temple

Various priests and villagers staged a protest in front of the Banavadi Gram Panchayat against the construction of an explosives stockpile at the foothills of the legendary Kanchagal Muneshwar Temple. Bandemath Seer, Palanahalli Seer led the members of Banawadi Village to Panchayat Development Officer against the explosive warehouse.
Mahalinga Swamiji of Bandemath said that there is more than 250 acres of forest area around the Kanchagal Muneshwar temple hill on the border of Nelamangala and Magadi taluk. It was also said that there are wild animals in the forest area and there is a temple nearby. But the warehouse for supplying explosives to the crusher was constructed near this hill without informing the locals and the concerned authorities demanded that they should thoroughly check the matter and take appropriate action.
Dr. Siddharaju Swamiji of Palanahalli Mutt said that if a fire accident occurs in an explosive warehouse, there will be many problems. Recently we have seen fireworks tragedy and explosive tragedy in Tamil Nadu. There are five or six villages nearby and there is agricultural land. The 111 feet tall statue of Lord Shiva in Veerapura, the birthplace of Lord Shivakumar Mahaswami, will also be disturbed. So he said we don’t need this explosive warehouse.
Renuka Prasad, the former vice president of the Gram Panchayat, said that the Panchayat license was informed about this four days ago. Let the panchayat members reject this warehouse together and discuss it in the general meeting. He called on everyone to unite and resist against permission.
