MP Govt Plans Rs 4,000 Crore For PM Awas Yojana

During the Budget presentation on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda informed the House that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Madhya Pradesh government plans to allocate Rs 4,000 crore for the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) Scheme. Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to provide over three crore homes in his third term, Devda expressed the state’s intent to leverage this opportunity.

In line with PM Modi’s announcement, the MP government has proposed a budget of Rs 4,000 crore for the PM Awas Yojana, Devda stated while presenting the annual Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. He highlighted the importance of cleanliness drives in urban areas, allocating Rs 500 crore for initiatives launched by PM Modi in this regard.

Devda also addressed the rapid urbanization, projecting that urban population could rise to 50 percent by 2047. He stressed the state’s readiness to tackle the challenges posed by this growth.

Regarding infrastructure, Devda noted a significant allocation of Rs 900 crore for road construction in the upcoming financial year, marking a 33 percent increase from the previous year’s budget.
