Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized the importance of loving and protecting nature, stating that it is a simple task that requires commitment from everyone. He inaugurated the Conversion and Dryland Management program on Wednesday as part of World Environment Day and presented state environmental awards.
Siddaramaiah highlighted the need to treat every day like Environment Day, advocating practices such as proper disposal of waste and rainwater harvesting to maintain health. He stressed that environmental protection requires collective effort from both the government and the public. He underscored that animals, like humans, deserve the right to live, emphasizing everyone’s responsibility to preserve biodiversity.
The Chief Minister asserted that maintaining public health depends on cleanliness, including access to clean drinking water. He warned of the consequences of polluted water, citing recent disasters and health crises. Siddaramaiah vowed strict action against authorities responsible for water supply issues and promised government efforts to ensure clean drinking water.
Regarding the rise in dengue cases, Siddaramaiah noted collaborative efforts by municipal corporations, health departments, and municipal administrations to control the disease.
He recommended proper research practices and emphasized the need for more research centers, particularly in the Forest Department, to enhance environmental understanding and conservation efforts.
