Six People Rafting Drown In Krishna River To Escape From Police

Six people drowned after a raft capsized in Krishna River near Baluti Jakavel in Kolhara taluk. The group, gambling on the river banks, attempted to escape on the raft upon seeing the Police. The raft sank due to strong winds, resulting in six fatalities. Two individuals managed to swim to shore safely. Kolhara police and fire brigade initiated a search and recovery operation.
Two bodies have been retrieved, with efforts ongoing to locate the remaining victims. Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Sonewane and Additional Superintendent of Police Shankar Marihara visited the scene and conducted an inspection. One of the deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Pundalika Enkanch.
