After the Palace on Wheels, renowned as one of the world’s most luxurious trains, announced its availability for destination weddings, bookings for these services will commence in September. Officials noted that the train traditionally caters mainly to international tourists due to its premium pricing. However, by offering it as a wedding venue, a new market segment will be tapped, including Bollywood celebrities, affluent Indian families, and others seeking unique wedding destinations.

Officials anticipate that this initiative will also contribute significantly to Rajasthan’s revenue. Wedding rates will be determined based on the distance between venues. Advance bookings are essential for weddings, stated Pradeep Bohra, director of Palace on Wheels. Costs will vary depending on the distance traveled. For instance, charges for travel between Delhi and Jaipur or Sawai Madhopur will be calculated on a per-person basis.
