Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: Heavy Traffic Expected In Outer Ring Road Due To Namma Metro Work

Must read

Commuters may face VVIP traffic on Kodichikkanahalli Main Road, Bommanahalli Junction, and Silk Board Junction after 11:30 am on Thursday. Traffic congestion is expected due to the presence of VVIP vehicles. Those traveling towards the inner city from Hosur Road and those heading to the outer city via Dairy Circle are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.

Drivers using Outer Ring Road or Old Madras Road towards Hebbal should prepare for significant traffic jams. Metro rail construction in the area is worsening the situation. It is recommended to seek alternative routes to avoid prolonged delays.

Anugraha Layout (Phase 1) in the city has been declared officially free from recurrent flooding after 25 years of frequent floods. The Bruhat the city Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) attributes this improvement to the establishment of a pumping station and a sump. The Residents Welfare Association oversaw the project, ensuring its timely completion.

However, local resident Sethu Madhav disputes BBMP’s claim, arguing that comprehensive measures to prevent flooding have not been implemented. Divakar H.S., head of the Anugraha Layout Welfare Society, acknowledges the steps taken by BBMP but notes some residents remain anxious about the risk of floods during heavy rainfall. In response, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the city Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar have planned visits to assess the situation firsthand.

Residents are advised to stay informed about further developments and potential traffic disruptions in these areas.
