Mission Road To Remain Shut For Next 20 Days

Must read

Starting Wednesday, all vehicle movement on Mission Road from Subbaiah Circle to Shantinagar Junction under the Richmond Circle flyover has been temporarily prohibited. This restriction is due to ongoing pipeline work by the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB). The restriction will last for 30 days or until the work is completed.

No vehicles will be allowed under the flyover towards Shantinagar Junction. However, light motor vehicles and two-wheelers can travel from Subbaiah Circle to the Richmond Road flyover.

An alternative route has been advised for vehicles coming from NR Square and Hudson Circle towards Subbaiah Circle. Vehicles should take a right at Subbaiah Circle, proceed to Lalbagh Road, take a left towards Nala Road, join KH Road, and continue towards Shantinagar Junction. Parking has also been banned on Mission Road, Nala Road, Double Road, and Lalbagh Road during this period.

In other news, the the city Suburban Rail Project (BSRP), covering approximately 148.17 km across four different corridors, will significantly change the city’s landscape. According to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) by K-RIDE, over 32,572 trees will need to be felled or uprooted to complete Phase 1 of the project.

The construction of the Akkupete Depot in Devanahalli, outside the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits, will require the removal of over 17,505 trees.
