She walked the red carpet at the French Riviera in her late mother’s treasured saree and nose ring, capturing global media attention with her grace and heartfelt tribute.
On social media, Chhaya expressed her emotions and shared highlights of her Cannes journey, reminiscing about her unfulfilled dream of traveling with her mother. In a moving Marathi message, she wrote, Mom, my dream of taking you on a plane ride remained unfulfilled.but today, I am satisfied that I brought your saree and nose ring with me on the plane to the Cannes Film Festival. She added, Still, Mom! I wish you were here today to see all this. Love you, Mummy, and miss you a lot.
During the festival, Chhaya also shared a memorable moment with renowned music composer AR Rahman, which she described as a cherished memory.
Chhaya Kadam attended Cannes to represent the Indian film ‘All We Imagine As Light,’ directed by Payal Kapadia, competing for the prestigious Palme d’Or. This Indo-French production marks the first Indian entry in the main category at Cannes in three decades. The film tells the story of Prabha, a nurse whose life changes after receiving a gift from her estranged husband, leading to deep introspection and transformation. The Cannes Film Festival will conclude on May 25, 2024.
