In anticipation of the upcoming “Buddha Purnima” day, the Joint Director (Animal Husbandry) has issued a directive prohibiting the slaughter of animals and the sale of meat in sale stalls under the jurisdiction of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
As the BBMP highlighted that, this measure aims to honor the sanctity of the occasion and respect the sentiments of those observing Buddha Purnima. The ban on animal slaughter and meat sale underscores the importance of promoting compassion and non-violence, values central to the teachings of Lord Buddha.
