The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) have consented to provide Cauvery river water to 21 IT Parks located in and around the Mahadevapura area. The water will be earmarked for drinking purposes, addressing the growing demand from companies in the region. However, the BWSSB has stipulated certain conditions, including the payment of a specified fee for the supply of Cauvery water.
Representatives from various companies in the area had appealed to the BWSSB during a previous meeting, highlighting the reliance on borewells to meet their water requirements. In response, BWSSB chairman Ram Prasath Manohar announced the board’s readiness to cater to the companies’ water needs by supplying Cauvery water.
BWSSB has taken steps to alleviate the water scarcity faced by IT companies. With several companies seeking Cauvery water, we are prepared to initiate water supply under the fourth stage of the scheme, stated Manohar, as reported by the media.
