On Tuesday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Morten Bodskov, Denmark’s Minister for Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs. They discussed advancing their Green Strategic Partnership. Jaishankar shared on X, It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Morten Bodskov today. Previously, on Monday, Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi also met Bodskov at the Re-Invest 2024 conference in Gandhinagar. Joshi expressed India’s eagerness to benefit from Denmark’s renewable energy expertise and invited Danish companies to invest in India’s growing renewable energy sector. He noted India’s significant progress in renewable energy, ambitious targets, and favorable environment for sustainable development.

India’s commitment to renewable energy was underscored at COP26 in 2021, with goals including 500 GW of non-fossil electricity capacity, 50% renewable energy usage, and a 1 billion tonne reduction in emissions by 2030. India aims for net-zero emissions by 2070 and is making strides in solar and wind energy. This focus on green energy is part of India’s broader strategy to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lead in global clean energy efforts.
