Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil expressed his joy after his team’s dramatic comeback win against FC Goa in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa. FC Goa, led by Manolo Marquez, dominated the first half, taking a 1-0 lead through a powerful strike by Armando Sadiku.
However, Jamshedpur FC bounced back in the second half. Javier Siverio equalized from the penalty spot, and in the 93rd minute, Jordan Murray secured the win with a precise shot past FC Goa goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani. This last-minute goal sealed an important away victory.
Jamil praised his team’s resilience, saying, it’s an away game against a good team. We needed a positive result, and we got it. He highlighted the strong defense led by Stephen Eze and praised goalkeeper Albino Gomes for his crucial saves, especially in the opening stages.
Jamil credited the team’s hard work and teamwork, particularly the combination of Jordan Murray, Javi Hernandez, and Javier Siverio. We played as a team, and that made the difference, he said.
Looking ahead, Jamil emphasized the need to build on this momentum for their next home game against Mumbai City FC, aiming for another positive result without becoming overconfident.
