Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction, uncapped player Swastik Chikara expressed his desire for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to bid for him on Friday. The auction will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia starting from Sunday.
Chikara, who topped the run charts in the UP T20 League this year with 499 runs from 12 matches at an average of 49.90, hopes his impressive performance will catch the attention of IPL teams. Last season, the 19-year-old scored 494 runs with three centuries and two fifties.
Speaking about his IPL aspirations, Chikara shared, “I want all the teams to bid for me. I went to Delhi Capitals last time and would like them to bid for me again. I also hope Lucknow Super Giants will bid for me.”
Chikara reflected on his time with the Delhi Capitals, where he learned a lot from Captain Rishabh Pant. “It was a great experience, playing with players I have seen on TV. Rishabh taught me the importance of staying focused on cricket,” he said.
The Ghaziabad-born player also mentioned his admiration for Virat Kohli, his favorite IPL player. Chikara recalled a conversation with Kohli, where he learned that the star cricketer had visited Ghaziabad for matches in the past.
