In the election campaign meeting of Nagathan Assembly Constituency, Minister MB Patil urged voters to support those who stand for truth. He emphasized the importance of honesty over falsehoods.
Prof. Raju Alagur, a two-time MLA and Congress District President, was not granted a ticket for the election due to his previous support for JD(S). However, this time, he received the ticket as a consensus candidate. He pledged to represent Vijayapur’s voice in the Lok Sabha, just as he did in the Legislative Assembly.
MP Ramesh Jigajinagi’s lack of significant work was highlighted, particularly concerning the railway flyover project, which also received 50 percent funding from the state government. The unfulfilled promises of the Modi government, including the failure to deposit 15 lakhs into citizens’ accounts or create two crore jobs annually, were also mentioned.
MLA Sunil Gowda Patil criticized the BJP’s shift from criticizing the Congress guarantee to promoting the Modi guarantee. He lamented the lack of development support from MPs for Vijayapura, a popular tourist destination, noting the absence of parliamentary inquiries. Prof. Raju Alagur reiterated his commitment to represent the interests of the voters.
