The PUC Board results were out on Wednesday. In the state ranking, the place of Belagavi educational district has dropped from 25 to 27th, despite improvement in the passing percentage. On the other hand, the Chikodi educational district improved its ranking from 16 to 15 by making considerable improvement in its passing percentage. Both educational districts fall in Belagavi district.
The passing percentage of the students of Belagavi educational district is recorded 77.20 percent, which was 73.98 percent in the last academic year. When it comes to Chikodi, the passing percentage has been recorded 84.10 percent this year seeing a considerable improvement.
It is a result of several measures taken to improve the result at any cost this year, said Chikodi Deputy Director of Pre-University PI Bhandari. In Science stream, Gouri Sanjeev Sooryavanshi of Banajawad Pre-University College in Athani taluk got 3rd rank to the state by obtaining a total 596 marks.
GK Divya of the same college has achieved 3rd rank to the state in the Arts stream by obtaining a total 594 marks. Savitri Maigur, a student of Sri Sadguru Ramalingeshwar Independent Pre-University College of Kakamari in Athani taluk also achieved 14th rank to the state in the Arts stream by gaining a total 592 marks. All three students belong to the Chikodi educational district.
