A delegation of Ministers and MLAs from the Vokkaliga community met with the Chief Minister on Friday, requesting the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe allegations against BJP MLA Munirathna. The delegation, led by Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, presented their case to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at his Kaveri residence.
The delegation cited various serious allegations against Munirathna, including claims of commission, rape, and honeytrapping, and emphasized the need for a thorough investigation.
Earlier, Congress Ministers, MLAs, and leaders convened at a private hotel to discuss the caste abuse allegations involving Munirathna. It was collectively decided to approach the Chief Minister for an SIT investigation into all cases against him, including the caste abuse allegations. Following the meeting with the Chief Minister, the delegation plans to escalate the matter to the Governor’s court.
Prominent attendees included Minister Dr. MC Sudhakar, MLAs Sharath Bachegowda, Dr. Ranganath, TD Rajegowda, MLC Puttanna, and former MLC Marithibbe Gowda.
