Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has announced that pacer Shivam Mavi will no longer participate in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 due to injury. Mavi sustained the injury during the pre-season camp of the Lucknow-based franchise. The team expressed disappointment over Mavi’s exit, stating that he had been an integral part of their plans for the season. LSG assured that they would assist Mavi in his recovery process. Despite the setback, LSG currently holds the fourth position in the IPL 2024 standings with four points and a net run rate of +0.483.
Led by KL Rahul, LSG had a tough start to the season with a loss against Rajasthan Royals (RR). However, they managed to secure victories in their subsequent matches against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The LSG squad includes players like Quinton de Kock, Devdutt Padikkal, Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, and others. Mavi’s absence will undoubtedly affect the team’s dynamics, but LSG remains determined to continue their campaign with the available resources.
