The 3rd International Conference, titled “Communication Design: Image, Reality and Representation,” was recently organized by the Department of Media Studies at Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous in Bengaluru on April 2nd and 3rd, 2024.
Shri VK Prakash, a renowned film director, actor, and national awardee, along with Prof BK Ravi, were honored as the chief guest and guest of honor, respectively, for the event.
Ms Sangeetha BK, Assistant Professor at the Department of Media Studies, warmly welcomed the attendees, followed by a prelude by Dr Gopakumar AV, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous.
Rev. Fr. Dr Augustine George, the Principal of Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous, praised the department’s initiative and emphasized the importance of such gatherings in shaping narratives and fostering empathy across communities.
Shri VK Prakash shared insights on non-verbal communication, stressing the importance of relatable content in feature films and advertisements, and highlighting cinema as an amalgamation of various art forms.
Dr BK Ravi, Vice Chancellor of Koppal University, delivered the keynote address on “New Trends in Indian Media Industry,” discussing India’s media and technology growth over the past 75 years and the significance of accommodating new trends like AI.
