In a proud milestone, 28 students who used Gavi Mutt’s round-the-clock digital library have been recruited as police constables. Established in January 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic, the digital library at Sri Gavisiddheshwar Mahavidyalaya was set up by Abhinava Gavisiddheshwar Swamiji of Gavi Mutt. Initially, the library offered 15 computers and dedicated study areas for 108 students.

According to librarian Mahesh Biradar, admission to the library is merit-based, requiring a degree, with students receiving free accommodation and meals. The library provides over 1,000 books on competitive exams, along with 25 magazines, journals, and daily newspapers. Students also access online test resources here.

In three years, more than 1,800 students from 16 districts have benefitted from the library, with 210 currently preparing for various exams. Lecturer and former student Rajesh Yavagal noted that library students wear unique T-shirts on special occasions, distinguishing them on campus.

After the pandemic, employment was scarce, but placements gradually rose, with 45-50 students landing government jobs. The 28 students who passed the police constable exam this January recently received their appointment orders. Gavi Mutt hosted a program to celebrate their success, and many credited the digital library for making government jobs an achievable goal.
