Bengaluru City District team once again emerged champions in Rohan Cup state level cricket tournament held under the auspices of Karnataka Working Journalists Association, at Sahyadri College Stadium.
Bangalore City District Executive Committee Member and Team Leader Senior Journalist YSL Swamy, V Nanjundappa and Dhyan Poonacha, won the title for the second time. State Working Committee Member S Somasekhara Gandhi, City District Treasurer Shivaraj handled the responsibility of the entire team.
A total of 24 teams including Mumbai participated in the tournament. In the final, the Bengaluru team defeated Hassan by 25 runs and won the title.
In the league stage, they won against Tumkur, Vijayanagar and Gadag teams. Then in the quarter finals they won against Udupi by 35 runs and directly entered the final on the basis of run rate. Bharat, Deepu, the openers of the Bangalore district team, performed well in the entire tournament. Ramanji, Pralap, Bharti, Vikas bowled well.
State President of Karnataka Working Journalists’ Association Shivananda Tagadooru wished the Bengaluru team. Association convener Ravikumar Telex and others were present on the occasion.
