Karnatak University Dharwad (KUD) sets an unprecedented delay by not declaring  Bachelor of Education results even after six months.  Over 4,000 students from 39 BEd colleges in Dharwad, Haveri and Gadag districts await results, a situation contrary to Davanagere University’s record of announcing results the day after degree examinations. The First and Third-semester results are not yet declared by the University and these students have appeared in the Second and Fourth Semester examinations already. According to the rules, results should be out within 45 days of the examinations.
According to sources, the KUD has introduced digital evaluation of the BEd exam answer papers this time, so it has some issues. The KUD has been solving these glitches, delaying the results of BEd.
There are over 4,000 students who have been affected due to this delay. Their semester First and Third examinations were held between June 20 and 28, 2023. Whereas semester Second and Fourth examinations were held between November 16 and 22. It is almost six months since their First to Fourth semester examinations. However, the result is yet undeclared. Moreover, there is no clarity on back subjects of semester examinations, said Sujata Kulkarni, a BEd final semester student. She said it was unbelievable that semester Second and Fourth semester examinations were held without the results of First and Third semesters being declared.
We have appeared in Fourth and final semester examinations recently, but we do not have the Third-semester results as of now. Without any idea about our backlog subjects, how can we plan for our future studies. The KUD authorities should have declared pending semester results first after which they could have introduced digital evaluation, demanded another BEd student in Gadag district.
