Inspiring Achievers Commended by Governor at University of Mysore’s 103rd Convocation

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot expressed his delight as the University bestowed honorary degrees upon distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions in education, literature, and social affairs. Their remarkable achievements stand as a beacon of inspiration for the student community, and their service to society remains steadfast.

Addressing the attendees at the 103rd convocation of the University of Mysore, Governor Gehlot urged the students to actively engage in the construction of a New India, Best India and to champion the cause of a Self-reliant India through the knowledge gained from this esteemed institution.

Reflecting on India’s rich educational and cultural heritage, the Governor emphasized the ancient philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam, which emphasizes global unity, peace, equality, and harmony. He highlighted India’s historical prominence in knowledge, science, and education, attributing it to an education system deeply rooted in holistic personal development and spiritual enlightenment. This legacy has contributed to India’s global leadership and economic strength, earning it the moniker of the golden bird.

Anticipating the forthcoming 100th year of independence in 24 years, Governor Gehlot urged collective efforts towards propelling the nation to the forefront of global economic development. He highlighted the urgency of addressing environmental imbalances, affirming our shared responsibility for environmental protection and advancement.During the convocation ceremony, Nadoja Dr. PS Shankar, Journalist KB Ganapathy and former cricketer Javagal Srinath were conferred with honorary doctorates in recognition of their exemplary contributions.   Padma Vibhushan awardee and former Director General of DRDO, Dr. Vasudeva K Atre, Higher Education Minister Dr. MC Sudhakar and Vice Chancellor Prof NK Loknath graced the occasion.
