The Mumbai Indians franchise has announced the departure of Shane Bond, marking the end of a successful 9-year tenure with the team. Bond served as the bowling coach for the Mumbai Indians, contributing to the team’s victory in four IPL tournaments. He also had the role of Head Coach of MI Emirates in the inaugural season of ILT20. Bond expressed his gratitude, saying, I would like to thank the Ambani family for the opportunity to be part of MI One Family for the last nine seasons. It has been an incredible experience with so many great memories on and off the field. I have been lucky enough to work with and have strong relationships with so many great people, both players and staff. I will miss them all and wish them all the best for the future. Finally, thanks to the MI Paltan for their support as well. Shane Bond took over as the team’s bowling coach in 2015 and played a significant role in the Mumbai Indians’ title triumphs in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. His contributions have solidified his place as one of the most decorated and celebrated coaches in the franchise’s history. Additionally, Bond’s experience extended to being the head coach for MI Emirates during the inaugural edition of ILT20. In this role, he focused on blending the experience of international players with the local domestic players.
