Must read

Bengaluru’s Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister, Zameer Ahmed Khan, demonstrated a compassionate gesture by personally covering Rs 2.5 lakh in hospital bills for a family unable to afford them. The family had recently lost a member to illness, and the resulting medical expenses had left them in financial distress.

The deceased, Fatimabi, was the wife of Zabiullah, a fruit vendor in Huliyar Pallya. After being admitted to multiple hospitals, she eventually passed away at Kshema Hospital in Bengaluru. The medical costs amounted to around Rs 3.80 lakh, while the family only had Rs 50,000. They still needed Rs 3 lakh to release the body for the final rites.

Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan intervened, arranging an immediate payment of Rs 2 lakh via a cheque from the Wakfs Council for Women. He also contributed Rs 50,000 personally and ensured the family could transport the deceased to her village for the last rites. This compassionate act provided vital support to a struggling family during a difficult time.
